Building and Restoration Corner
Joseph Mamczij, the new chairman of the Building and Restoration Committe, will soon be calling a meeting of the parish to explain the scope of the work to be done on the bell tower.
The extent of the work needed is far beyond just the painting of the tower.
The extent of the work needed is far beyond just the painting of the tower.
Be sure to watch the bulletin for more information regarding this important work, and meeting.
Prayers of Thanksgiving
Following the Veneration of the Cross, the Prayers of Thanksgiving are being read for the edification of our parishioners.
This pious custom allows us to pray these prayers together before we go out into the world.
Please be quiet and attentive during this time, and follow along in your prayer book.
Parish Council Meeting
There will be a meeting of Holy Trinity’s Parish Council on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 6:30p.
All Parish Council members are urged to attend.
Adult Bible Study
Steve Durham will continue teaching classes on the Prophet Isaiah in the next few weeks.
We will look at historical background of the prophet (his times were disturbingly like our own), and then look at major themes in relevant chapters.
Almost the entire book of Isaiah is read in Orthodox Churches during the course of Lent (along with Genesis and Proverbs). So why is this eighth-century BC prophet so important to the churches — and not just Orthodox! — and what are its message for our faith and practice today?
The “Isaiah” Study schedule has been changed. The next discussion will soon be announced, and will begin 30 minutes after the end of the Divine Liturgy in the fellowship room.
It also will meet approximately every other Sunday, depending on other previously scheduled events.
So grab your coffee etc., and join us at the designated table next door!
